Do you have a BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related with experience in writing scripts in Python?
You’re good at being strategic and you love looking at rich data sets, solving real-life analytics challenges, right?
So, you should be able to analyse a good opportunity when you see one. Then, what do you make of this?
The company
They’re a global organisation and a key generator of energy, supplying services to significant industrial businesses.
Their North East of England base is situated within a short distance from several major transport networks, with the area offering a cheaper cost of living than much of the UK, without the commensurate drop in salary. Plus, there’s relocation assistance if you need it.
The role
You’re a person that loves looking at rich data sets and solving real-life analytics challenges using Python, R, MATLAB scripting languages.
You’ll be interacting with other likeminded Computer Analysts, Developers and Data Scientists across the globe – helping you get better at what you do.
With several major projects starting across the organisation, it means that you won’t just be stuck in one department, on the same task every day. You can transfer between Trading, Operations, Maintenance, Commercial…
Most importantly, the projects you’ll assist on are huge, affecting thousands of people.
You’ll quickly become the driving force of the department, creating complex models and supplying the kind of intelligence that will support growth. It’s a big business, offering big projects and big rewards.
What you need to know
We won’t bore you with nitty gritty, but here’s some of the key info:
If you want to be a part of this growth, you’ll need to have at least a degree or master’s in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
You’ll also need a background in writing scripts in Python, R, C++, C# or VB.net, etc.
As a person, though, you’re a problem solver and someone with great attention to detail, with a willingness to innovate.
If you have a background working in energy generation or trading, that would be ideal, but it’s not essential. And the salary’s negotiable, because they’ll pay what they need to.
Look, we know that your job calls for you to be analytical, and you can’t do that with incomplete information. So give me a call on – 01642 456300, Steve Guest, ask me anything and I’ll answer honestly.
Alternatively, send your CV (don’t worry if it’s not up to date) to steve.guest@techconsult.co.uk
Let’s see if we can negotiate your way to a better job.
Everybody will receive a response.
